corporate raiding of the peoples airwaves) in Arcata, Ca. on
Friday Nights From 5-7PM. The new playlist link has now will keep old playlists around instead of the old site only having 3. The new podcast link will take you to where you can download the podcast (which is also availible from the itunes store). I will

Red Rasta formerly DJ Downbeat has been a conscious reggae and dancehall DJ in Humboldt county since 2004. Hailing from Pennsylvania, he landed in humboldt in 2000 after traveling the country for four years. In 2004 he joined the ranks of Humboldt Free Radio Alliance 99.9 FM out of Arcata, CA, a low-power free radio station not sanctioned by the FCC. Starting out with a radio show called Steady Sound System, playing ska, rocksteady and early reggae, his show has evolved over the years to its current incarnation, Reggae Revival, where he plays music from early ska all the way to current conscious dancehall. More recently, his local radio show has endured global popularity through the use of podcasting, boasting 10,000 subscribers worldwide, consistently one of the top five reggae podcasts on iTunes.
Red Rasta is making his way back into the Humboldt dancehall scene with his new venture, Conscious Selections Sound, spinning modern roots and foundation reggae mixes, and spreading the message of peace, love and unity.
